Heard On Tape Uploader is a small piece of automation that runs on the channel owner's own computer. It uploads his own videos to his own YouTube channel, and reads back their upload status. That is the whole of it.
Heard On Tape is a documentary channel that publishes true-crime films built from public record audio. The Uploader is the tool behind the channel's own publishing workflow: it takes a finished film, a title, a description, a thumbnail and a scheduled slot, and delivers them to the channel as a private video. The owner reviews and publishes from YouTube Studio himself.
It is not a public product. It has no sign-up, no accounts and no user base. Its only user is the owner of the channel it uploads to.
The application talks to the YouTube Data API v3 using exactly two permissions, both limited to the owner's own channel:
youtube.upload — to upload the owner's own finished videos and set their thumbnails and metadata.youtube.readonly — to read back the status and metadata of the owner's own videos, so the owner can see that an upload landed.Nothing broader is requested. No other Google service is touched, and no data about anyone other than the channel owner is accessed. The full detail — what is stored, where, and for how long — is in the privacy policy.
In one line: personal tool, one user, his own channel, his own videos, always uploaded private, nothing shared with anyone.
